1. What we collect

When you submit an enquiry through our contact form, we collect:

• Name, so we know who we are speaking with
• Phone number, our primary way of reaching you
• Email address (optional), for sending proposals and documents
• City or location, to plan a site survey and check DISCOM jurisdiction
• Property type, to determine subsidy eligibility and system sizing
• Preferred call time (optional), so we call when it suits you
• Your message (optional), whatever you choose to tell us

We do not collect payment details, government ID numbers, or bank information through this website. If those are needed later in the installation or subsidy process, they are collected separately and directly.

2. Why we collect it

• To respond to your enquiry and answer questions about solar
• To schedule a free site survey at your property
• To prepare a system proposal and savings estimate
• To process government subsidy applications on your behalf, where you ask us to
• To provide after-installation service and maintenance

We do not use your information for automated profiling or advertising, and we do not build marketing lists from it.

3. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary to deliver the service you asked for:

• MSEDCL or your local DISCOM, for net metering applications and inspection, when you proceed with an installation
• The MNRE PM Surya Ghar portal, for subsidy registration and disbursal, where you have asked us to apply on your behalf
• Our IT service providers, who host this website and store enquiry records securely on our behalf. They act only on our instructions and are bound to keep your information confidential.

We may also disclose information where required by Indian law or a valid legal order.

4. WhatsApp and phone contact

If you contact us via the WhatsApp button on this site, your message and phone number are handled under WhatsApp’s own privacy terms in addition to this policy. We use WhatsApp and phone calls to discuss your enquiry, not for bulk promotional messaging. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time and we will.

5. Cookies

This website does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We set a small number of strictly necessary cookies:

• A language preference cookie, so the site remembers Marathi, Hindi, or English
• A secure session cookie if you log into the customer portal, so you stay signed in

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an installation are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us. Records for completed installations are kept for the life of the system warranty and any statutory period we are required to observe. Solar systems carry a 25-year performance warranty, and subsidy and net metering records must be retained for compliance.

7. How we protect it

• All traffic to this website is encrypted over HTTPS
• Enquiry records are held in an access-controlled database, not in open spreadsheets or shared inboxes
• Our internal dashboards require a password to sign in and limit repeated login attempts
• Access is limited to Solart employees who need it to do their job, such as the team preparing your quote and the installation crew assigned to your site

No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold.

8. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date
• Ask us to delete your information, where we are not legally required to keep it
• Withdraw consent to being contacted
• Raise a grievance about how we have handled your data

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Children

This website and our services are intended for adults arranging solar installation on property they own or occupy. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. Material changes affecting existing customers will be communicated directly.
